About Me

I consider myself to be an interdisciplinary scientist and an artist; although science, technology, and engineering has dominated my professional career.

I am currently an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Director of Innovation & Technology at Linfield University. I am also the Director of Research & Development for Solid Carbon, a start-up company developing sustainable concrete products, and founder of Tec+Art Ventures.

Prior to these adventures, I was Chief Technology Officer for Amorphyx, a flexible electronics and display start-up I helped found in 2012. Before that I completed my Ph.D. thesis on materials chemistry (w/ Prof. Mas Subramanian) and a Post-Doc on thin-film electronics (w/ Profs. Doug Keszler, and John Wager) at Oregon State University.

I spend most of my time somewhere between the wine country hills and grassland pastures of the Willamette valley with my wife and four kids.
